How We Spent the Last 16 Hours of 2016

Basically, a day in the life New Year's Eve style. Mostly time stamped pictures, with a little commentary here and there. This is LONG. But hopefully a quick "read" since it is mostly pictures.

Only non-timestamped shot of the day - because I hadn't decided to do A Day in the Life yet at this point. It was taken at exactly 9:00. Charley had just woken up and wandered into our room, where we were laying in bed with Laney who had woken up 15 minutes earlier.

Hiding so I can't get her dressed.
Untitled

I win.
Untitled

Took a picture of Charley so Laney insists on one of her own. Love that she did her hands the exact same way as Charley.
Untitled

Laney's dressed now too.

Untitled

Notice the tiny hand on the counter.
Untitled

Headed out for a 10:00 appointment for the girls.
UntitledUntitled

Just in time.
UntitledUntitled

Haircuts for both - done!
Untitled

Charley informs me her headrest is too low, and she's right, so I adjust the carseat in the parking lot of the gas station we'd stopped at.
Untitled

Home again, home again.
UntitledUntitled

Took down all of the Christmas things last night, so today I need to redecorate everything with my normal decor.
Untitled

In the meantime, I gather some things to sell on Facebook Marketplace.
Untitled

Still decorating. I use a laundry basket to bring items up from the basement to try on the shelving I'm decorating.
Untitled

Getting there...
Untitled

Diaper break!
Untitled

My storage room where all my extra decor lives, among other things.
Untitled

John came home from running errands with Wendy's, so we had just finished up with lunch here.
Untitled

Charley wants to Lite Brite, so naturally the bulb is out so I have to change it real quick.
UntitledUntitledUntitled

Decor complete, now to clean this room.
Untitled

John's outside working on picking up some logs and branches from a few trees we recently got cut down.
UntitledUntitled

My dad drives by on the golf cart...
Untitled

...and comes right back on the tractor to help.
UntitledUntitled

Every weekend involves something getting spray painted.
Untitled

Finished.
Untitled

Bought some pansies SEVERAL weeks ago that never got potted. Try to pot them today and see if I can nurse them back to life.
UntitledUntitled

2nd coat.
Untitled

Realize I had a few more quizzes to go on a management training course for work, that was due BY THE END OF THE YEAR. Remembered just in time.
UntitledUntitled

Finished redecorating the dining room.
Untitled
Untitled

Now to clean this mess.
Untitled

And take a quick 20 month picture.
UntitledUntitled

Cleaned Charley's room next.
Untitled

Starting to prepare some snacks for the evening.
Untitled

Always make sure to walk your cat.
Untitled

Kids have their bags and are ready to go.
Untitled
Untitled

Their home for the night - my parent's house.
Untitled

Got myself somewhat presentable.
Untitled

First friend arrives.
Untitled

We are a really rowdy bunch.
Untitled

First ever Moscow Mule. Delish!
Untitled

Another friend joins, has her first Moscow Mule as well, and continues to puzzle with me.
UntitledUntitled

Darts.
Untitled

Shuffleboard.
UntitledUntitled

Pool.
Untitled

Ping pong.
Untitled

Happy New Year!

Looks like a fun time! How do you date stamp like that? It seems much easier to Day in the Life that way. I feel like I'm trying to keep things straight in my head when I do it.

I had to use snapchat to take the pictures with the timestamp. So, a little extra annoyance since it's not my initial reaction to go into that app versus the camera app to take a picture, but it definitely made things much easier when putting it all together. I just took the picture, added the timestamp and saved the photo to my phone. I wasn't snapchatting pictures every 10 minutes all day long. Lol

Came over from Julia's blog. Love seeing your day! Also - my husband will be SO JEALOUS when I show him your storage room. That is his dream right there. It's not a possibility in our home, but if we had a room for it, he would have the exact same thing. Love it!

I was curious about the time stamps too. That has to make these DITL posts so much easier. I LOVE your house! The storage space is amazing. I love your bed. And the game room looks so fun!

I love that you did DITL with mostly pics!

Your living room looks amazing! Love what you did with the shelving. Your storage room looks like it is out of West Elm or Pottery Barn!

Wow, your kids sleep in late! We have an early riser so I’m totally jealous.

Love your kitchen floors and storage space!
